We recently had the pleasure of hosting Painting & Planting activities alongside the dedicated 7th-grade Service Learning students from Pacific Ridge School in Carlsbad!

Wildlife Jewels PETAL Conservation w/ Pacific Ridge School: February 5th Monarch Butterfly Day, planting activity at Carlsbad Poinsettia Park. The students planted native plants that will help support and attract local pollinators. On February 13th, we held a painting activity where students painted beautiful hummingbirds, butterflies, and native plants, highlighting the importance of protecting pollinators. As part of Wildlife Jewels’ Pollinator Engagement Through Arts, Leadership, and Conservation (PETAL™ Conservation) program!
The program featured exciting art workshops, where students learned about San Diego's native Hummingbirds & Butterflies and their critical role in our ecosystem. They created stunning artwork inspired by these precious pollinators, exploring both the beauty and the challenges they face.
This was complemented by planting activities at Carlsbad Poinsettia Park, where the students put their learning into action by planting native plants to help support and attract local pollinators.
It was incredibly inspiring to see how the students' creativity and passion for conservation came together to support pollinators! We’re so proud of the invaluable work the students did, which will benefit both pollinators and our ecosystem, creating lasting benefits for both people and the environment!

We recently had the pleasure of hosting a vibrant art workshop as part of Wildlife Jewels’ PETAL™ Conservation Arts Program, with the dedicated 7th-grade Service Learning students from Pacific Ridge School in Carlsbad!
During the workshop, students explored the fascinating world of San Diego’s hummingbirds and butterflies, learned about the vital roles these pollinators play in our ecosystem, the challenges they face, and how native plants help support their survival.
With creativity and passion, students learned painting techniques and created vibrant works of art inspired by these precious pollinators—bringing to life their stunning colors, intricate patterns, and natural beauty, while also reflecting on the urgent need to protect them.
The exciting art workshop complemented planting activities, where students learned about some of the pollinators' favorite native plants, their importance, and even planted them at Carlsbad Poinsettia Park!

Students explored the fascinating world of pollinators, the importance of native plants in providing food and habitat, and took action by contributing to a healthier, more vibrant habitat. A special highlight: the activity coincided perfectly with National Monarch Butterfly Day! Students also learned about the Western Monarch Butterfly, the challenges they face, and how we can support their survival.
A beautiful day of learning, planting, and making a difference—for wildlife and the planet.

On Thursday, January 9th, Wildlife Jewels hosted a planting activity at Carlsbad’s Poinsettia Park. Dedicated students from Pacific Ridge School in Carlsbad came together to learn about majestic pollinators, the importance of native plants for wildlife, and took action by planting native flowers to support local hummingbirds, butterflies, bees, and other vital pollinators.

Such an inspiring day! A huge thank you to everyone who joined Wildlife Jewels for our Plant for Hummingbirds & Butterflies Celebration at Castaways Park in Newport Beach. Your participation made a significant impact, contributing to the planting of native flowers that serve as essential nourishment for our beloved pollinators!
On Sunday, December 8th, Wildlife Jewels hosted a community planting event at Newport Beach's Castaways Park, uniting nature enthusiasts to support local hummingbirds, butterflies, bees, and other vital pollinators. Your participation made a significant impact, contributing to the planting of native flowers that serve as essential nourishment for our beloved pollinators! Our goal was to raise awareness about precious pollinators through the arts, enhance the city's natural beauty with vibrant blooms, and promote wildlife conservation. Thanks to the dedication and generosity of our supporters, we successfully planted approximately 135 pollinator-friendly plants!
Throughout the event, we planted native flowers that attract and sustain hummingbirds, shared educational information about the importance of native plants, and highlighted incredible facts about hummingbirds and the innovations inspired by them. Attendees learned about the threats these tiny birds face and ways they can help protect them. We also showcased artwork inspired by a special hummingbird and monarch butterfly we helped rescue, sharing their stories and recounting the tale of a hummingbird we had the privilege of caring for.
A highlight of the event was the visit from two precious rescued Hummingbirds, brought by Cindi, ifoundahummingbird.com wildlife rehabilitation. Everyone had the chance to learn about the hummingbird’s journey and recovery story, making the day even more memorable.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined and supported us in making this special event possible!
We’ll soon be sharing more details about the flowers we planted, the hummingbird & butterfly educational materials we presented, the precious rescued hummingbirds we had the delight of seeing, and the beautiful hummingbird & butterfly artwork we showcased! Stay tuned for more updates!

Inspiring Day! We planted flowers for hummingbirds & butterflies, learned about the native plants they love, explored fascinating facts about hummingbirds & butterflies, innovations inspired by them, the major threats they face, and how to protect them. We also had the chance to witness two precious rescued hummingbird in care, admired hummingbird & butterfly-inspired fine art, and enjoyed delicious cupcakes!
