Introducing The Gulls Beach™!

We're excited to unveil our new initiative, The Gulls Beach! Our mission is to spotlight the life, beauty, and remarkable behaviors of Gull colonies and other visiting bird species, fostering awareness for their protection.

Located in Solana Beach, California, "The Gulls Beach™," a tranquil coastline housing a diverse array of bird species, including Gulls, Snowy Egrets, Brown Pelicans, Godwits, other shorebirds and seabirds.

The reason behind the name "The Gulls Beach" is deeply rooted in our founder, Azi Sharif's, two-decade residency in Solana Beach and Corona Del Mar. A profound love for the ocean and its life, frequent surfing sessions, and daily beach walks along Solana Beach and Newport Beach brought encounters with precious Gulls and other seabirds. With a keen eye for wildlife, she's witnessed and assisted injured and deceased birds, braved tough times like oil spills, tarball-ridden beaches, and actively participated in cleaning plastic debris, algae blooms, and domoic acid-related incidents causing harm to marine mammals and birds.

Solana Beach stands out with its unique colony of Gulls, housing Western Gulls, Ring-Billed Gulls, and more. Our dedication to naming this shoreline "The Gulls Beach" stems from our mission—to share their beauty, unravel their intriguing behaviors and daily lives, address the challenges they confront, and educate individuals to actively protect them.
