You’re invited to join Wildlife Jewels® for our “Sweep & Learn for Wildlife” King Tides guided beach cleanup & tide pools exploration wildlife walk in Corona del Mar! Discover the California Brown Pelicans of Corona del Mar State Beach and Explore the Wonders of Tide Pools during One of the Lowest Tides of the Year!

This event offers an inspiring mix of conservation, learning, and exploration. As we come together to remove beach debris, you'll have a chance to learn about the unique wildlife that visits and inhabits this area, including the beautiful California Brown Pelican we helped rescue here.

Participants will gain insights into the impact of King Tides, learn how to detect and report injured wildlife, and hear about the recent pelican crisis and conservation efforts to protect these remarkable birds. After our beach cleanup at Corona del Mar State Beach, we’ll continue our efforts at Little Corona del Mar tide pools, where we’ll clean and explore the vibrant marine life that makes these tide pools so special.

This event is a rare opportunity to witness Little Corona del Mar Beach during a King Tide—a remarkable natural phenomenon that only happens a few times a year!

Learn: Learn about the wildlife residents and wildlife visitors in Corona del Mar you're helping to protect, understand the effects of ocean pollution and debris on them, and discover actionable steps you can take every day to protect them! Learn about California Brown Pelicans and the recent pelican crisis they faced. Explore the wonders of the tide pools at Little Corona Del Mar Beach!

Wildlife Jewels® Activities WAIVER OF LIABILITY (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY)

As a condition of being allowed to participate in activities organized by Wildlife Jewels® ), I, the Participant, agree to the following: 1. THE PARTICIPANT: I am volunteering my services for Wildlife Jewels®. I will perform assigned tasks that are within my physical capability and will not undertake tasks beyond my ability. I will perform only those tasks assigned, observe all safety rules, and use care in the performance of my assignments. 2. ASSUMPTION OF RISKS: The Wildlife Jewels® Program activities consists of field trips, beach cleanups, wildlife watch and monitoring which might bring the Participant into contact with wildlife and potential hazardous environment. I acknowledge that participating in beach or inland water cleanups, hiking, wildlife rescue and monitoring carries inherent risks, including but not limited to the potential for injury, infection, or physical harm from hazardous materials, wildlife encounters, poisonous plants, and environmental conditions such as flooding, rockslides, sun exposure, or rugged terrain. I hereby voluntarily assume all risks and responsibility for injury, death, or property damage foreseeably arising from Program activities even if not expressly stated above. 3. PHOTOGRAPHS, VIDEOS, AND/OR AUDIO RECORDINGS CONSENT RELEASE: I, as Participant, consent that my photographs/video/audio may be taken, or my image digitally recorded while engaged in volunteer activities for Wildlife Jewels® and consent to the use of my image in published materials and websites that promote the programs and activities of Wildlife Jewels®. 4. WAIVER, INDEMNITY AND RELEASE: I, as Participant, waive, release, discharge, and hold harmless Wildlife Jewels® from any and all claims, damages, losses, death, and any actual or alleged personal injury caused in whole or in part by any act or omission arising from my participation in the Program, including both claims arising during the activity and after I complete the activity. I accept sole responsibility for my own actions in the event of injury, damage, or loss. 5. PARTICIPANT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: I, the Participant, have received this RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK CONSENT in advance of the Program, have read it before signing below, and fully understand its contents, meaning and impact and that it is binding on me, my heirs, representatives, administrators and assigns. I, the Participant, realize I cannot withdraw my consent after I sign this RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK CONSENT. By providing my email address below, I agree to receive future communications from Wildlife Jewels® regarding Wildlife Jewels® events and other Public Education programs. I have fully informed myself of the contents of this liability release and assumption of risk.

I hereby release and hold harmless Wildlife Jewels® from any claim or lawsuit for personal injury or property damage arising out of participation in the Event, including both claims arising during the activity and after I complete the activity.
