The Problem
Our ocean is facing an unprecedented crisis. The cumulative impacts of heating, pollution, acidification, and oxygen depletion present grave threats to the ocean's health and the diverse life forms that inhabit it. These challenges resonate across the entire spectrum of marine ecosystems, affecting every living being that calls this vast planetary resource home.
Seabirds and Marine Mammals are falling victim to devastating algal blooms and toxic chemicals, while the ingestion of plastics and entanglement in fishing gear further compounds their plight. Thousands of Seabirds and marine creatures are tragically falling victim to the devastating consequences of offshore drilling, oil spills, and oil seepage. These incidents have created catastrophic environmental disasters, resulting in the widespread contamination and loss of precious marine life. Sea Turtles and many other marine life are also subjected to senseless killings for their meat and shells, while sharks are on the brink of extinction, primarily due to the demand for their fins.
Tragedy strikes in the form of ship strikes and noise pollution leading to the deaths of majestic whales. Moreover, the haunting echoes of Dolphin hunts, such as the Taiji dolphin drive hunt in Japan, persist as Dolphins are herded into confined bays to be slaughtered or captured for their meat. The grim reality of commercial whale hunting looms over countries like Japan, Iceland, and Norway. Additionally, the overfishing of Krill in the Southern Ocean poses a significant threat to the entire Antarctic ecosystem, as Krill serves as a vital food source for a wide range of Antarctic wildlife.
The urgency of the situation cannot be overstated. Wildlife Jewels is dedicated to taking action and being a voice for our marine life. We are committed to raising awareness about these critical issues and advocating tirelessly for the preservation of our precious marine life.
Our Approach
Wildlife Jewels’s Ocean Programs showcase the mesmerizing beauty and captivating behaviors and unique stories of marine life through our artistic and educational initiatives, while highlighting the devastating consequences of human-induced threats that endanger our precious marine life and disrupt the delicate balance of our oceans worldwide.Through our ambitious monitoring and observation programs, we aim to be the guardians of our coastal wildlife. We observe and track coastal wildlife, document human impacts, and provide assistance to wildlife in distress. By documenting and raising awareness of the detrimental effects of human-induced threats on marine life, we strive to protect marine species and inspire positive change.
Our educational and community outreach initiatives reach individuals, where we share the threats to wildlife and inspire action. Through a diverse range of conservation, education, arts, and community involvement programs, we provide opportunities for individuals to engage and make a difference.
Digital advocacy and media outreach play pivotal roles in our mission to educate and inspire people while effecting tangible change. Through collaboration with organizations, we actively advocate for the development and implementation of policies dedicated to protecting our oceans and marine ecosystems.

Wildlife Monitoring and Survey Programs
Coastal Wildlife Observation and Human Threat Impact Tracking Program
Our “Coastal Wildlife Observation and Human Threat Impact Tracking Program” focuses on monitoring coastal wildlife along the California Coast and documenting the impacts of human activities on them. Our dedicated team observes the daily lives of our coastal wildlife and assesses potential threats such as tar balls, unleashed dogs, feeding wildlife, and other potential threats.
Coastal Wildlife Watch Program
Our “Coastal Wildlife Watch Program” is tailored to observe and report signs of illness or distress in coastal wildlife. Volunteers and trained observers keep a vigilant eye on wildlife habitats, promptly reporting any incidents of mortality or distress.
Marine Protected Areas Wildlife Watch Program
Our “Marine Protected Areas Wildlife Watch Program“ focuses on monitoring wildlife within “Marine Protected Areas” to track and report any signs of distress in wildlife as well as instances of human threats to wildlife or violations of conservation regulations. By closely monitoring these critical habitats, we aim to ensure the effective protection of coastal wildlife.
Wildlife Crisis Reporting and Rescue Programs
Coastal Wildlife Crisis Monitoring and Rescue Program:
Our “Coastal Wildlife Crisis Monitoring and Rescue Program” is dedicated to monitoring coastal wildlife populations during times of crisis, such as environmental disasters or disease outbreaks. Our team coordinates detecting and reporting injured or distressed animals, working to ensure they quickly get transported to wildlife rehab.
