About The Theme
This year, the theme for the United Nations World Wildlife Day is “Exploring Digital Innovation in Wildlife Conservation”. The alarming rate of wildlife disappearance is underscored by the latest report from the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), revealing that approximately 44,016 species face the threat of extinction. This accounts for approximately 28% of the 157,190 species listed in the IUCN Red List.
It requires a collective endeavor to explore and unite technologies from diverse sectors, reapplying them to mitigate threats and save wildlife from extinction. Urgent partnerships are essential, bringing together organizations, countries, individuals, and groups to implement transformative technologies and drive impactful change to protect our wildlife.
